Confidentiality

Colne CBT Service respects peoples right to confidentiality.

If disclosure of information is required, consent will be obtained  (for example to insurance companies or general practitioners [gp])

All information shared between clients and therapists will remain confidential between those parties, and only be used for the purposes for which it was given.

All notes of therapy sessions are kept in a locked file.

Information will only be disclosed without consent if it is believed that someone may be at significant risk of harm, to themselves or others in line with BABCP and NMC code of conduct and the law.
