How effective is CBT?

Clinical trials have shown that CBT can reduce the symptoms of many emotional disorders. For some people it can work just as well as drug therapies for treating depression and anxiety disorders, without the side effects of medication.

Not only is CBT proven to help with existing symptoms, but research also shows that it reduces the chances of future relapse, compared with other forms of treatment. The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) recommends CBT for a wide range of issues. http://www.nice.org.uk

The skills taught by CBT will help you feel better and will continue to have value in your life long after your original problems are gone.
